One engine. Every rig. Bespoke to the operator.
A modular test-software platform developed in-house over decades — and recently rebuilt from the ground up, with decades of lessons learnt, to complement the next generation of Beckhoff hardware.
Bespoke software to suit every end user
Every RTC control system pairs our common software engine with a graphical interface customised for the specific test solution. Development of the interface has been driven by customer feedback for decades, so it is tuned to the realities of the industry: it reduces the operation of even the most complex rigs to simple, intuitive, easily documented operator procedures.
A deliberate common look and feel means operator retraining on a new rig is typically limited to the new unit under test — not the software.
What every rig ships with
Login & users
Role-based access from operator to engineer, with controlled permissions per screen and function.
Rig status
Live unit-under-test display: every channel, state and interlock visible at a glance.
Customisable screens
Multi-screen layouts configured to the rig and the operator's workflow — not the other way round.
Manual operation
Direct, guarded manual control for setup, fault-finding and maintenance modes.
Test setup
Profiles edited and stored on the interface PC, downloaded to the real-time controller before each run.
Test status
Sequence progress, timing and limit checks live, with operator prompts where procedures need them.
Acquisition
Channel configuration, scope display and waveform tools — measurement set up in minutes.
Data logger & reports
Configurable logging, automated pass/fail, and PAT report generation straight from the rig.

Software is where test time is won
On a recent automated production-acceptance rig, full automation meant units cycled through tests unmanned — pass/fail displayed, reports generated, throughput up, and the customer's payback period substantially reduced. Intuitive software also cuts operator training. That is the engine doing its job.
Common questions
Is the test software bespoke or off-the-shelf?
It is built on RTC's proprietary modular test-software engine, then configured to each programme — repeatable test sequences, configurable limits, data logging and reporting tailored to the customer's requirements.
Can it run automated sequences and produce reports?
Yes. The software handles automated test sequencing, pass/fail limits, full synchronised data logging and traceable test reports.
Does the software integrate with data acquisition?
Data acquisition is part of the same platform, so acquisition, live visualisation and post-test analysis are synchronised rather than bolted on.
Can you support modelling, HIL and virtual commissioning?
Yes. RTC offers modelling, hardware-in-the-loop and virtual commissioning to validate control and software before metal is cut, reducing programme risk.
